Modern Bialetti moka kettle for induction
Classic Bialetti moka kettles are made of aluminium or stainless steel and therefore cannot be used on an induction hob. However, if you have such a plate at home, it certainly doesn't mean that you can't make mocha coffee.
Both Bialetti and other manufacturers have come up with a stainless steel induction moka pot that allows you to prepare moka coffee on an induction hob without any problems.
Benefits of the induction moka kettle
- Made of high quality magnetic stainless steel.
- Coffee is ready in minutes.
- Designed.
- Stronger and more aromatic coffee taste.
Making coffee in a Bialetti moka pot for induction is very simple, but for beginners it can be a more challenging task. If you are still unsure of the preparation process, we have a clear guide to mocha coffee.
Capacity of an induction mocha pot
Unlike some other types of coffee makers, the volume of moka pots is given in 50 ml cups. When choosing the right moka pot it is therefore advisable to first consider how many cups of coffee you usually make.
- 2-4 cups will brew comfortably in a 100-200ml pot
- 4-6 cups is equivalent to 200-300 ml
- 6-9 cups equals 300-450 ml, moka pots of this size are less common.
Higher capacity teapots are not usually found, but some models allow for up to 12 cups. This is especially useful if you prefer larger cups of coffee and are hosting more people at the same time.
Branded or unbranded moka pot?
We have both branded and unbranded moka kettles for induction, let's summarise how they differ.
The good news is that they all work very well. You'll find the differences mainly in aesthetics and material workmanship. Non-branded moka kettles don't have as nice design packaging as the branded ones.
Branded kettles have better details than the regular ones, where you may find the occasional cosmetic imperfection, but that doesn't affect function. If you want everything tip-top, it's worth betting on teapots from proven brands like Bialetti.
Interestingly, there is a reduction that allows you to use a classic Biallet on your induction hob.
