Many coffee and tea companies boast of being founded in the 19th century, but few remain in the hands of the original family and bear their name. Dutch firm Simon Levelt, however, has been in business for two centuries and continues to evolve through innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. Over the past 30 years it has experienced steady growth and many key moments, including the first bio-coffee in the Netherlands 25 years ago and social projects in the Darjeeling area. It offers a wide range of over 30 coffee varieties and 200 tea varieties in more than 25 countries. The key to their success is their emphasis on quality without compromise, direct sourcing from plantations, in-house blending and blending, and a unique two-barrel bean roaster. Their specialties include maté with lavender, excellent teas from Darjeeling, and a variety of coffees with different origins and roasting levels.
