Producer:
The personal story of the family of Josias Cardosa relates to the creation of the farm. His father, a truck driver, invested in the farm in 1987 and wanted to use the profits to buy a new truck. Unfortunately, the drop in coffee prices put a stop to this plan and the proceeds were only used to buy new tires. During this period, Josias, then a student, helped run the farm. Currently, Josias oversees the operation of the farm. His focus has expanded beyond growing coffee to improving its quality and a commitment to protecting the environment. Each coffee station is named after a local tree. (Urtiga, Cedro, Ipê, Guatambu, etc.)

Processing:
Whole coffee cherries are dried in the sun on drying terraces for 10 to 25 days. After the drying process, when the humidity reaches between 11,3 and 11,8 %, the coffee is further processed and taken to the COCATREL warehouse.

Variety:
Arara is a natural cross between the Obatã and Yellow Catuai varieties. The ripe cherries are yellow in colour, which is why it is sometimes called 'yellow Obatata'. It was discovered in 1988 in the Parana region of Brazil by agronomist Francisco Barbosa Lima. Coffee trees are very productive and resistant to both drought and coffee rust. In the cup it shows a high sweetness and pleasant fruity notes.
